摘要:

Over the last few years many private and public sector agencies have been interested in smarter transportation technologies can be developed for cities using data, social media, mobile technologies, and data visualization. IBM has coined the term “Smart Cities” to describe the recent development in this area, while CISCO calls it as “Intelligent Cities”.  In the transportation network modeling community, many investigations have explored the potential of these technologies especially as they relate to smarter mobility in cities. This talk with present ongoing research on how big data driven network models is (re) shaping the solution to transportation mobility issues. This talk will discuss the speaker’s experience with various big data sources (taxi cab, social media, camera data, metro card data etc), new network modeling approaches for making cities resilient. Key methodological issues related to dynamic games, network resilience and perspectives on data driven network approaches will be briefly discussed.

主讲人简介:

Satish V. Ukkusuri is a full professor in the Lyles School of Civil Engineering, Director of the Integrative Data Driven Transportation Networks Lab and Co-lead of the Sustainable Communities Cluster at Purdue University. His research is in the area of interdisciplinary transportation networks with current interests in data driven mobility solutions, disaster management, resilience of interdependent networks, connected and autonomous traffic systems, shared mobility platforms, dynamic traffic networks and smart logistics. He has made contributions in dynamic network equilibrium modeling for solving congestion issues, data science for transportation analytics and tools for disaster response and recovery. He is a Fulbright Fellow (2015-16), Discovery Park Fellow (2013-15) and a CUTC/ARTBA Faculty Award (2011). He has also received awards of excellence for research and teaching at Purdue University.

Dr. Ukkusuri’s research in complex interdependent networks and disaster management has been supported by multiple large NSF grants including the Hazards SEES program and the CRISP program. He has published more than 110 peer reviewed journal papers and 140 peer reviewed conference publications. He reviews grant proposals for various agencies all over the world and is an invited and keynote speaker at many conferences.

Dr. Ukkusuri received his PhD from University of Texas at Austin, MS from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and a BTech from IIT Madras.
